Gustave Caillebotte painted Paris from unexpected angles — a man leaning over a balcony rail on Boulevard Haussmann, the sharp perspective of the Pont de l'Europe, the long climb of Chemin Montant. This collection also carries his quieter garden work from Petit Gennevilliers: blue irises, dahlias, chrysanthemums doubled up in vases, chestnut trees and orchards in bloom.
