Collection: Fanny Brate

Fanny Brate painted the quiet moments of Swedish domestic life: a child reading by the window, a girl laying the tea table, two children in a small quarrel on a sandy path. Around them, she returned again and again to flowers — wild roses in a pewter vase, aquilegia in a dark vase, cowslips and violets, hollyhocks against a summer wall — painted with the warm, unhurried light of a Nordic garden.
