White Narcissus in a Glass Bowl — Fanny Brate Postcard

This is not the Fanny Brate of sunlit farmhouse windows: the narcissus here are white against a deep teal-and-midnight-blue background, the glass bowl sitting on a green cloth, a blue-green armchair looming behind. The palette is saturated and assertive, far from her usual soft morning light — which makes it the most surprising card in the series. Still, the same careful attention to the flower remains: tall stems hold the blooms up out of the bowl, leaves cutting clean angles against the dark. A striking pick for a still-life shelf or collection that leans dramatic rather than soft.
