Mykola Pymonenko

Mykola Pymonenko (1862–1912) painted Ukrainian village life with a realist's eye and a folklorist's warmth — barefoot flower girls, courtyards at dusk, and neighbours pausing over the fence for a word. This collection reproduces his scenes on postcards: an elderly man and a young woman deep in conversation as turkeys wander past, children driving the herd home, a quiet hour by the stove, and two Easter scenes — a blessing at dawn and villagers gathered outside the church at night.
