Winter Spruce Forest with Cabin — Mønsted Postcard

Snow-laden spruce and fir trees close in tightly around a small wooden farm building, a red-painted annexe just visible through the dense conifers. Footprints lead in across the deep snow, the only trace of a recent visitor; a wooded hillside softens the distance and holds the whole scene in a hush. Mønsted painted Scandinavian winter forests on several occasions, and this composition leans fully into the sheltering, enclosed quality of a coniferous forest deep in winter, where the trees themselves do the work of keeping the cold at bay.

Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card by Zolota Ptakha Publishing House, the reproduction holds the cool spruce greens against the bright snow without flattening either.
