A narrow mountain road runs between walls of packed snow, threading toward slopes so steep they fill the upper half of the composition. A man leads a horse-drawn sled along the track; a low stone wall runs beside him; half-buried farm buildings and haystacks sit to the other side. Mønsted painted Denmark's flat coastal light for most of his career, and this Alpine road shows how differently he worked once the mountains themselves became the subject — the human figure reduced to a single moving mark against the surrounding scale.
Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card by Zolota Ptakha Publishing House, the reproduction holds the bright Alpine sky against the packed snow's blue-grey shadow. Part of our painting art postcard collection, suited to winter travel correspondence and postcrossing exchanges that reach into the mountains.
