Summer Dusk Over the Marshland, Mønsted

Flat marsh grasses hold the last warm color of the day as the sun drops toward the horizon, the sky doing most of the work in a landscape where a low building and marginal trees stay close to the horizon and let the gradient of colour across sky and water carry the composition. Mønsted was drawn to open terrain like this for its light, where the sky fills most of the frame.
