Spring Lake with Anglers, Peder Mønsted — Art Postcard

Horse-chestnut trees along the left bank of this Danish lake carry their white candle blossoms in early spring, while a bare, wide-armed oak leans out from the right, its branches doubled in the still water below. Two anglers stand on a narrow wooden jetty, lines cast into the reflection, reeds rising along the near shore and low hills closing the far side of the lake.

At 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card, the print holds the layered greens and the mirror-calm surface that Mønsted returns to often in his lake scenes.
