Snowbound Cabin in a Winter Forest, Mønsted — Art Postcard

Sunlight cuts low across fresh snow, picking out footprints on the path to a small timber cabin buried under its own drift of white. Snow-laden pines crowd both sides of the scene, with a second, reddish structure just visible through the branches at left, and the low sun casts long blue shadows across the untouched drifts.

Mønsted handled winter light with the same care he gave to summer water, letting long shadows do most of the work here. Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card, the postcard suits winter postcrossing and collectors of his Scandinavian snow scenes, alongside more in our art postcard collection. It reads well next to other Scandinavian winter cards from the same collection.
