The Seine in Paris — Henri Lebasque Postcard

"The Seine in Paris" is Lebasque at his most urban: a wide stone arched bridge crossing the river, a long line of Parisian buildings on the far bank with their characteristic mansard roofs, and a small dark boat passing in the foreground. The whole canvas shimmers in yellows, blues and pearly grays — the post-impressionist register he shared with friends like Bonnard.
