Expectation is one panel of the Stoclet Frieze — a mosaic cycle Klimt designed for Palais Stoclet in Brussels between 1905 and 1909. A standing figure in an Egyptian-stylized robe waits inside a field of gold spirals. It pairs with Fulfillment (also in this collection). An unusual Klimt for postcrossing: this is not a painting but a monumental decorative work, held inside a private house and rarely seen at full scale.
