Hollyhocks were one of the motifs Mønsted returned to again and again, and here they crowd almost to the eaves of a whitewashed Danish cottage — yellow, blush pink and white spikes against blue-painted window frames and a heavy thatched roof. A child sits quietly in the doorway shade while the stone path catches the full afternoon sun.
