Emile Claus Apple Blossom with Pigs Postcard

Spring arrives here in full and slightly ridiculous force. White apple blossom fills nearly the whole upper canvas — dense clusters on dark branching limbs, patches of blue sky showing through the flowers — and beneath it all, on a mosaic of green grass, three pink pigs go about their business unbothered by the beauty above them. Two root and graze; one faces forward, mid-thought. Through the blossoms, a white farmhouse with green shutters and a red-tiled roof is just visible.

The unbothered pigs beneath all that blossom make this an easy pick for a spring hello.
