Thatched Cottage with Sunflowers, 1909, Mønsted — Art Postcard

Sunflowers and pink hollyhocks crowd the front garden of a moss-covered thatched cottage, with a woman standing in the open doorway and chickens working the yard beyond the fence. Mønsted signed and dated this scene 1909, placing it firmly among his Danish rural studies, and the moss on the thatch suggests a roof many seasons old.
