Bruno Liljefors painted this scene in 1905, when his sharp, unsentimental animal studies were already known across Scandinavia. The hare crosses fresh snow with the burst of speed only a hunted animal really knows — the body low, the long hindlegs flung out, the eye fixed on what comes next. There is no theatre here, only the brief, exact second a watcher in a winter forest might catch and remember for years.
The A6 format makes the card easy to send through the international post; the heavy art paper holds the deep whites and chilled greys of the original without losing them to glare. It suits a postcrossing message to a partner with a soft spot for wildlife art, an early birthday card for a winter walker, or a small, well-chosen frame on a north-facing wall.
