Painted at Borre on the island of Møn and dated 1919, this is one of the most generously colourful cottage gardens in Mønsted's body of work — dahlias in red, orange, yellow and white crowd against sunflowers, hollyhocks and climbing roses, with chickens picking their way along the dusty path between the long thatched farmhouse and its trees. Borre was a place Mønsted returned to, and the composition reads like a summer at its absolute peak.
The card prints at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² stock by Zolota Ptakha Publishing House, holding the dahlia palette and warm thatch against deep summer greens. Part of our painting art postcard collection — a favoured pick for postcrossing in flower-garden circles or a Mønsted collection of cottage-garden subjects.
