Autumn Beech Forest by a Duckweed Pond, Mønsted — Art Postcard

Ancient beeches with moss-covered trunks ring a still pond carpeted in green duckweed, their roots gnarled and exposed along the bank. Orange fallen leaves scatter across the grass in the foreground, set against the last gold canopy still holding on overhead, while the trees themselves show decades of weathering in their bark.
This is Mønsted at his most patient, cataloguing bark, moss, and leaf litter in equal measure rather than reaching for a single dramatic focal point. Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card, the postcard works well for collectors of his beech-forest studies and for autumn postcrossing, alongside further picks from our art postcard collection. It travels well alongside other autumn woodland cards from the same collection.
