Dated 1911, this Alpine winter scene stays close to the village street rather than to the grandeur of the mountain rising above it. A pink-stuccoed stone house anchors one side; smaller farmhouses cluster behind, their roofs weighed with snow; an older girl walks with a younger child along the packed-snow street while a snow-capped peak catches the bright winter sun overhead. Where Mønsted's Alpine landscapes often dwarf their figures, here the human warmth of two children walking together is the whole subject.
Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card by Zolota Ptakha Publishing House, the card holds the warm pink wall against the cold mountain blue. Part of our painting art postcard collection, a fitting choice for family correspondence or postcrossing exchanges built around winter and childhood.
