Alpine Farmhouse in Heavy Snow, 1914 — Mønsted Postcard

Dated 1914, this close Alpine study is unusual in Mønsted's work for taking architecture itself as the central subject. A large traditional farmhouse carries a wooden gallery under a roof piled with snow and fringed with long icicles; two small figures stand on the snow-heavy balcony while bare, snow-laden trees rise beside them and the sky settles into a muted silver-grey. Rather than the sweeping valleys of his other Alpine work, here the sheer physical weight of snow on a single rooftop becomes the whole quiet argument.

Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card by Zolota Ptakha Publishing House, the reproduction keeps the soft grey tonality and architectural detail intact.
