Orthodox Church with Blue Domes — Stanislav Zhukovsky Postcard

A bright summer sky and a single Orthodox church with blue-and-gold domes. Zhukovsky usually paints the inside of buildings, not the outside, which makes this picture a small exception — the same careful, slightly melancholy attention he gives to drawing rooms, turned on a piece of architecture instead. A flowering tree leans into the frame from the right; the grass is full of dandelions.
