Stanislav Zhukovsky Old Garden Pavilion in Summer Postcard

A wooden pavilion stands in the green corner of an old garden — its wide multi-pane window catching dappled summer light, climbing vines pulling along its facade, the steps already half-claimed by long grass. Stanislav Zhukovsky (1875–1944) had a particular feeling for these neglected outbuildings, structures that had outlived their original use and now belonged more to the garden than to the house. There is no figure, only the late-summer hush around the place. Small enough to slip into a notebook, sturdy enough to cross a continent in a postcrosser's envelope.
