On the Long Veranda — Stanislav Zhukovsky Postcard

A long enclosed veranda runs deep into the picture, white-painted balusters on one side and a Gothic-arched window glowing at the far end. A woman has set up a small table halfway down and bent her head over a book. The flowering plant in the foreground is almost in the way — and that's exactly how someone would actually live in a room like this.
