Here a red-haired young woman in a white blouse settles outdoors, dark green foliage closing in around her, completely absorbed in the page. The composition is loose, the brushwork warm, the world reduced to the book. The card is for friends with stacks of unread novels, for someone you are sending a book recommendation, or for a quiet thank-you slipped inside a library copy.
