Portrait of Wife (Polish: Portret żony (Na letnim mieszkaniu)), painted in 1904 by Polish artist Józef Mehoffer (1869–1946), depicts the artist's wife, Jadwiga Mehoffer, standing elegantly inside a wooden summer house in Zakopane. Dressed in a long white skirt and a richly coloured orange blouse with puffed sleeves and ruffles, she wears a wide hat decorated with white feathers and holds a branch of mountain pine in her hand.

The setting is as important to the composition as the sitter herself. Behind Jadwiga, a piano occupies the right side of the room, while a comfortable upholstered chair, a table laid with a white cloth and a child seated in the background create the atmosphere of an intimate family interior. The warm wooden walls and patterned textiles give the scene a distinctly domestic character, while the figure's fashionable clothing introduces an elegant turn-of-the-century note.

Reproduced as a fine-art postcard, Portrait of Wife offers a glimpse into the private world, fashion and interiors of early twentieth-century Poland. It is an evocative choice for lovers of Józef Mehoffer, Polish Art Nouveau, Young Poland, historical fashion, women in art, domestic interiors and fine-art postcards for postcrossing and snail mail.
