Jenny Nyström — Cinderella, Fairy Tale Illustration

Jenny Nyström's talent for illustration reached well beyond the Swedish Christmas card tradition. This late 19th-century chromolithographic postcard — published by H. Abel of Christiania, Oslo's name before 1925 — depicts a pensive Cinderella: barefoot, golden-haired, seated beside her broom and a large green pumpkin, while birds circle a hanging terracotta pot.
