Along a sunlit quay above the Seine, a flower seller in a straw hat and blue apron tends row after row of potted blooms while elegantly dressed women slow their walk to browse on the way toward the stone bridge rising behind him. A small dog trots the path unbothered by the trade going on around it — the kind of ordinary riverside commerce Victor Gabriel Gilbert painted again and again, half portrait of a trade, half portrait of a city at its most unhurried. The bridge and open water give this scene more room to breathe than his shop-front market views, closer to a stroll than an errand. Printed at 10×15 cm on 350 g/m² card stock, it suits collectors of river, market, or Paris imagery alike. From the flower market postcards collection.
