Le Langage des Fleurs — Mountain Folk Costume Postcard

A 1921 folk-costume plate by George Barbier, from a Czechoslovak series: a woman in a white headscarf and dark floral skirt lifts a flower to her lips, seated on a rock, while a man in embroidered white folk dress leans toward her, extending another flower on a slender switch. Snow-capped peaks and pine forest rise behind them. From the same series as ‘Le Coq du Village’, this plate is titled ‘Le Langage des Fleurs’ — the language of flowers.
