A boy in a pink smock, red neck-tie, and patched trousers holds out a small fistful of wildflowers to a white lamb nosing up at his hand, a wide sky heavy with cloud rolling over the meadow path and the water beyond it. Karl Feiertag sets this one outdoors, away from the tighter interiors of his portrait work, and gives it real weather — the clouds are doing as much as the two figures.
