Carl Larsson: Brita, Cat and a Sandwich

This utterly charming watercolour is Carl Larsson's portrait of his daughter Brita — the inscription "BRITA" at the top of the original leaves no doubt. Dressed in red with a white bib, the small girl holds her glass with impressive self-possession while the family cat attends to its own business below. "Brita, en katt och en smörgås" (Brita, Cat and a Sandwich) is one of the most beloved works in Larsson's gallery of family portraits.
