Blühender Bauerngarten (Blooming Cottage Garden) by Austrian painter Hugo Charlemont (1850–1939) is a richly coloured garden scene filled with flowering plants, rustic architecture and the atmosphere of a cultivated country garden. Dense beds of chrysanthemums, roses and other seasonal flowers fill the foreground, while a narrow garden path leads between the abundant planting toward thatched-roof cottages in the background.

The painting demonstrates Charlemont's particular interest in gardens, landscapes and scenes of everyday rural life. His broader oeuvre includes landscapes, flower still lifes, genre scenes, animals and interiors. Born in Jemnice in Moravia, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1873 and continued his artistic development through study trips and work in the Netherlands and Venice. His paintings are represented in collections in Vienna and other European cities.
