Allegory of Music is a 1892 allegorical study by Polish painter Henryk Siemiradzki (1843–1902), created as a sketch for the proposed stage curtain of the Słowacki Theatre in Kraków. The elegant female figure is conceived as a personification of Music, surrounded by flowing drapery and presented with the theatrical grandeur characteristic of Siemiradzki's historical and allegorical art.
Reproduced as a fine-art postcard, this historic artwork is a beautiful choice for lovers of classical art, theatre history, music and nineteenth-century European painting. It also makes a distinctive addition to an art postcard or postcrossing collection.
